Candice grew up in Star Valley, WY.  She started working at the age of 5 at her family's small business.  By high school she was helping in the office, writing up invoices and keeping the books.  She graduated with an Associates Degree from Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) in 1999 and earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 2007.  She spent 15 years as a stay-at-home mom, and then joined the L.C. Miller CPA team in January 2014.  She lives in Nampa, ID with her husband and 4 children.  She enjoys going to the gym, gardening, and doing anything outdoors with her family.

Candice Hughes

Amber was raised in Bozeman, MT.  It was where her love of horses began.  She was actively involved in the 4-H program for nine years and in 1986, graduated from Northwest Community College in Powell, WY with an Associates of Equine Sciences degree.  In 2001, Amber received her Masters of Professional Accounting in addition to the Bachelor of Business Administration from Montana State University-Bozeman she received in 2000 and became a CPA in 2006.  Her first job was preparing tax returns for high net-worth individuals for PriceWaterhouse Coopers in the Bay Area.  After moving to Caldwell, ID, Amber has worked in banking for over ten years, responsible for the internal financing report, SEC reporting and coordinating the preparation of both corporate taxes and employee taxes.  In her spare time, Amber enjoys running, hunting, hiking, camping and riding 4 wheelers and horses with her six year-old twins.

L. Calyn Miller


Calyn started doing taxes as a hobby in 1997, volunteering a year with the IRS to prepare tax returns for low-income individuals.  He soon added family and friends, and then "friends of friends."  He received two Associates Degrees from Tacoma Community College and a Bachelors of Business from the University of Washington-Tacoma.  He sat for and passed all four parts of the CPA exam in 2001 and had enough experience to become a CPA in 2005.  Calyn has been in banking for 15 years, including jobs from teller and staff accountant to VP/Controller and EVP/Chief Financial Officer.  After a few years in Nampa, ID, Calyn is back in the Tacoma area with his wife and seven children.
